Boat Repair Firm Prosecuted for Failing to Identify Confined Space Risks

A boat repair company was fined £20,000 and £23,000 costs for failing to adhere to the Confined Space Regulations during welding activities within the diesel tank of a fishing vessel.

Neither of the men involved in the works was trained for confined space working, nor were they supplied with respiratory protective equipment or gas detection equipment.
